Good Egg recently collaborated with CJRC Retail Consultants on a confidential ‘green’ project for a leading high street retailer to investigate the ecological characteristics of shopping trolleys. Phase 1 involved an outline ‘cradle to grave’ analysis which helped to establish the business case for considering a plastic alternative for a mainstream supermarket. Phase 2 is pending a decision to trial plastic or hybrid trolleys, exposing them to the rigors of the UK marketplace, prior to proceeding with a wider.
